Obituary of Lois Mae Cook

Age 86, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Henry Ford Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dale Lewis will officiate with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm then on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Lois was born December 31, 1927 in Mecosta County, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Emma (Doering) Hearit. She and Raymond Cook were united in marriage on August 2, 1947 and together they enjoyed dancing the Polka. Lois worked as a Home Health Aide for 10 years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 3609 and the D.A.V #3 Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, dice and working in both her flower and vegetable gardens. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are sons, Ron Cook and his girlfriend, Annie and Jim Cook; granddaughters, Jennifer Cook and Jamie Matheny and husband, Kevin; great grandchildren, Jerad, Austin, Brianna and Courtney; brother, Robert; sister, Marion; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parent; husband, Raymond; grandson, Anthony and many brothers and sisters.
