Obituary of Leonard Lee Rich

Age 76, of Mt. Morris, formerly of Port Huron, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday August 23, 2014, at Mt. Morris Chapel. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Friday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On Saturday Leonard will be taken to church to lie in state from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM. Cremation will follow with private burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial donations maybe directed to Mt. Morris Chapel. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Leonard was born March 18, 1938, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Verta (Hux) Rich. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He would go on to school and study skilled trades and work as a Tool and Die Maker for Chrysler and GM- Grand Blanc Metal Fab. He was a member of the UAW # 1292 and UAW #1264. Leonard enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, wood working, restoring cars and landscaping. He was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Mt. Morris Chapel. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Linda; six children, Robert and wife Carol Rich, Janet Braun, Anne and husband Trevor Graham, Jennifer and husband Todd Blackledge, Jeremy and wife, Christine Fitch and Christopher and wife Amy Fitch; 20 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila and husband, Robert Hissock; his furry children, Minnie and Chewie and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of PICU at Genesys for the care and support given to Leonard and the family.
