Obituary of Kenneth E. Newcombe

Of Harrison, formerly of Mt. Morris, age 76, died August 27, 2014, at home, surrounded by his family. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, Minister Jim Watson will officiate, with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Cremation & Tribute Services on Friday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and Saturday, from 9:00 am until time of service at 10:00 am. Memorial donations may be directed to the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Ken was born July 1, 1938, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Mary (Kern) Newcombe. Raised in Mt. Morris, he graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the Class of 1956. He and Andrea Tregilgas were united in marriage on July 2, 1960. Ken worked for General Motors at Truck and Bus, until his retirement. He was a long time active member of the Mt. Morris Church of Christ and the Moose Lodge in Harrison. Ken enjoyed spending time with his family, deer hunting, fishing, boating and spending time up north. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Kenneth L. Newcombe and fiancee, Margaret Richmond and Charles R. and wife, Shelia Newcombe; five grandchildren, Nikki, Ashlie, Andrea, Billy and Cody; step-grandchildren, Trent, Travis and Trever; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jaelyn, Abby and Lane; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Andrea; son, Joseph L. Newcombe; and daughter, Robin Renee Young; and brother, Harvey Joseph Newcombe. The family would like to thank Hospice Advantage of Bay City, for the care and support given to Ken.
