Obituary of Thelma R. Sproule

Thelma R. Sproule, age 102, of White Cloud, Michigan, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Spectrum Health Butterworth of Grand Rapids. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Hensler will officiate with burial to follow in GraceLawn Cemetery. Thelma's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Thelma was born November 7, 1911, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Judson and Katherine (Smith) Charters. Thelma met and married Leslie Sproule on December 20, 1926, in Bay City. Sadly he preceded her in death in 1978. Thelma was a long time member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Flint and a VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In her free time Thelma enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crocheting and flower gardening. Left to cherish her memory are, daughter Irma Bray; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leslie, two sons; Leslie Jr. and Jim Sproule, two daughters; Leona Bennett and Thelma Buben, sister; Helen and husband, Raymond Hittle, and her brother; Roland and wife, Ruby Charters. The family would like to extended a special thank you to Clayton Mac Ainsh, Norm and Terri Edmondson, and Tanya and Cory Mitchell for their great hospitality.
