Obituary of Eugene Emil Block

Of Mt. Morris, age 78, died Saturday, October 25, 2014. Cremation has taken place. Eugene was born April 25, 1936 in Waubay, South Dakota, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Valeria (Wirkus) Block. He and Linda Payne were united in marriage on August 10, 1957 in Webster, South Dakota. Sadly Linda preceded him in death on March 11, 2013. Eugene enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, woodworking and working on lawn mowers. Left to cherish his memory are his ten children, Joanne and husband, Aubrey Barrett, Shelly and husband, Tony Long, Deborah and husband, Peter Gilbert, Susan Seifert, Roxanne and husband, Spencer Wilson, Eugene, Jr. and wife, Jean Block, Leroy Block, Billy and wife, Kim Block, Tony Block, Johnny Block, Eva Shavkey; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; five brothers, LaVerne Block David and wife Maryann Block, Harry and wife, LaDonna Block, Raymond and wife, Wilma Block and Dennis and wife, Marsha Block; two sisters, Marlys and husband, Bill Joyce and Doris and husband, Larry Sendburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Linda; two daughters, Rose Marie and Ann Marie; grandson Loren, Jr.; two brothers Martin and Richard and two sisters, Virginia and Adeline.
