Obituary of Rosalee Nord

Please share a memory of Rosalee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born June, 1926 Died November, 2014. She is survived by two sisters, Lorna Colvin and Prudy Deal, sons Robert Agle, Jr. and his partner Judith Peters, Raymond Agle and wife Leanne, Terrance Agle and wife Vicki, William and wife Vora, Timothy and wife Veronica and Kevin Klida, numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Nord, her father and mother, Robert and Era Mae Thrower, three sisters, Helen McConnell, Velma Fisher and Mary Herron. A child of the Great Depression and WWII, Rosalee moved with her family from Clio to several other places in Genesee County before settling on Roberts Dr. in Genesee Township. During that time her mother passed away. She, and her sisters, worked to turn the home site into a garden spot where the extended family gathered to celebrate Grandpa Thrower's birthdays and other special occasions. During WWII, Rose dropped out of school to marry Robert Agle, Sr. and raise a family of five boys as Robert went off to war. In 1950, she joined the workforce of AC Sparkplug Div. where she was employed for over 30 years. The 1953 Beecher tornado swept away the family home on Genesee Rd. with her, her five boys and niece Twyla Wallace in it. Miraculously, none were seriously injured; but, the family spent two plus years to rebuild the home site. In 1962, her marriage broke up; but, she continued to live on Genesee Rd. and see her children off to adulthood. In 1969 Rosalee married Jerome Klida. They bore a son, Kevin and continued to make improvements to the home site while they both continued working at AC. In 1982, that marriage dissolved. In single life again, Rose became a member of the Thumb Area Chapter of Sweet Adelines to develop her vocal music talents. She also became an ardent supporter of Al-Anon where she came to be recognized as a comforting presence to those whose lives were being compromised by excessive drinking. In the early 1990's she also returned to Kearsley High School where she completed the academic requirements to get her diploma. Later in the decade of the 90's she became reacquainted with a former high school beau, Norman Nord. After he was widowed, he returned to Michigan from Iowa, courted and wed Rosalee and moved her back to his home in Davenport. After 11 years together, they were both overtaken by the diseases of old age; he to heart disease and stroke, she to Alzheimer's disease. In 2010, this combination resulted in their separation as Rose moved back to Michigan so that Robert Jr. could oversee her care in assisted living until she passed away. Rosalee's children have arranged for her burial at noon on Monday, November 24, 2014 in the Thrower family plot at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio, MI, not far from her birthplace. Those wishing to participate should gather at the Martin Funeral, Cremation, & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, MI by 11:30 am and join in the procession to the cemetery for a brief witness to Rose's life and passing. The children are planning for a longer memorial in June, 2015, details to be announced later. The family requests that no flowers be sent to the funeral home or the cemetery. Instead, they request that memorial donations be made to organizations supporting Alzheimer's research for cures and prevention. Directing that acknowledgements be sent to Robert C/O P.O. Box 870; Flint, MI, 48501.
