Obituary of Robert C. Davis

Age 73 of Mt. Morris went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 15, 2014, at his home. Family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Friday, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On Saturday, Robert will be taken to Mt. Morris Christian Faith Church to lie in state from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Pastor James Harvey will officiate. Private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery with graveside Military Honors. Memorial donations may be directed to Reverence Hospive. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Robert was born May 19, 1941, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn and Muriel (Bryce) Davis. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring in 1979, as a Chief Petty Officer. He would go on to work at U of M Flint in Facilities Maintenance. He was an active member and Church Elder of Mt. Morris Christian Faith Church. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda; two sons, Richard "Rik" and Jeffery Davis; adopted daughter, Sandy Sigmund; grandchildren, Michael Delmar, Nathanael Davis and Nicholaus Davis; great-grandson, Declan Stielow-Davis; brother, Darrell and wife Myrna Davis;; sisters, Phyllis Hesselrode of Arizona, Deanna Negus of Arizona, and Sharon Davis of Michigan; step-daughter, Sharon and husband, Mike James of Tennessee; step-grandchildren, Alisha "Niki" and husband, James Simpson and Nathan Wagenknecht; and step-great-grandchildren, Adrien, Mariah, Kamryn Wagenknecht; and Autumn and Paige Simpson.
