Obituary of Emma (Wigginton) Elliot

Age 88 of Mt. Morris passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Friday, from 9:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm. Memorial donations may be directed to North End Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas, on December 18, 1926, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Flora Adams. She married A.T. Wigginton on December 2, 1944, and moved to Detroit, Michigan. The couple then moved to Mt. Morris and he preceded her in death in 1983. Emma worked at GM Ternstedt from 1953, until her retirement. She was a member of the UAW # 326 and the North End Baptist Church. She loved her church very much. Emma enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting, making jewelry to give as gifts to her family. She also loved playing cards with her lady friends, watching the Detroit Tigers and hoping they would win every time! Later in life, Emma married John Elliot and he also preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Rod and wife, Carol Wigginton; two grandsons, Tony and Marc Wigginton; two great-grandsons, Braedon and Damian; three sisters, Lee and husband, Charles Douglas, Linda and husband, Doug Piar and Vila Irwin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, A.T. Wigginton and John Elliot; ; daughter, Patricia; two sisters, Dorothy and Barb and two brothers, Tom and Bob. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice; her nurse Carie; CNA, Gert; and Massage Therapist, Bev for the care and support given to Emma. They would also like to thank Pam Peters for her help during Emma's Life.
