Age 91 of Flint, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at Victoria's House. Cremation has taken place. A private burial with military honors, will be held in August at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Brian was born April 15, 1923, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Mary (Bruce) Bowles. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On February 21, 1959, Brian married Eva Maxwell in Flint, Michigan. Brian was in sales his entire life, selling windows and siding for the family business for many years, before going to work for Northwood R.V. until his retirement. Brian was a proud member of the American Legion Oakley Trainer Post #64 in Flint, where he volunteered in many capacities. Left to cherish his memory are three children, Kathleen Scharchburg, Denise and husband, Tom Huffman, and Arthur and wife, Irene Sauve; six grandchildren, Daniel and wife, Trina Sowden, Mathew Jacob and fiancée, Rachel Sly, Micah and wife, Rachael Scharchburg, Noah Scharchburg, Stephanie and husband, Brian Walton and Mark Sauve; three great-grandchildren, Kalen, Isabelle and Caleb; sister, Bette Dahlstrom; sister-in-law, Tootie Bowles; and many nieces; nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva, brothers, Tom, Bruce and Richard; and sisters, Doris and Mollie. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Victoria and Chris Kelly, and all of their staff from Victoria's House for the care and compassion shown to not only our dad, but also to our entire family.
