Obituary of Irene I. Scott

Of Mt. Morris, age 69, died, Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Genesys Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Genesee Township, with burial to follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again, Wednesday from 11:00 pm until time of service at 12:00 noon. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to United Way. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Irene was born July 16, 1945, in Breslau, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen and Erna (Gunther) Kraus. She and Gerald Scott were united in marriage on June 12, 1965 in Beecher. Irene graduated from Flint Northern High, with the class of 1963. She spent her days knitting, crocheting, playing bingo and going to the casino. She loved going camping and traveling Michigan with her husband. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, two children: Michelle Potter, Gerald II and wife, Katherine Scott; six grandchildren: Jonathan, Nicolas, Amanda, Jacob, Dylan, and Bailey; two great-grandchildren: Jayden and Ryker; brother, Stephen and wife, Roxanne Kraus; mother-in-law, Zona Scott; and four brother-in-laws, Ron and wife, Lana Scott, Kenneth and wife, Joanne Scott, Paul and wife, Bobbie Scott, and Gary and wife, Susan Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Maria Kozan, father-in-law, Paul Scott, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Pease.
