Obituary of Marvin Ludwig Hecht

Marvin L. Hecht entered his eternal home on Friday April 10, 2015. Marvin was born on November 10, 1929, to Ludwig & Bertha (Rau) Hecht. He was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Michael's Lutheran Church and held many church offices over the years. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday April 14th at 4 o'clock at St. Michaels Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Mr. Hecht will then lie in state at St. Michaels Lutheran Church on Tuesday April 14th from 1 o'clock p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Robert Gadeken and Pastor Wes Gillaspie will officiate. Committal will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Richville. Memorials can be made to St. Michael's Lutheran Church. Envelopes available at the funeral home and church. On July 28, 1941, he married the love of his life Jean Ann Schultz, together they shared 63 wonderful years. She survives him, he is also survived by one son Gary & wife Rene'e, and their triplet children Garrison, ReAnna, and Malachi Hecht. Marvin had farmed for 40 years and he was a certified seed grower. He also worked for Eaton Corporation and Grede Corporation for 25 1/2 years. After retiring he then worked for his son in the landscaping business for 16 years. Marv devoted his whole life to the Lord, his favorite passage was "The Lord is my Shepherd". His world revolved around his wife, children and especially his Triplet grandchildren and Special nephew and wife, Waldo & Pat Hecht. He also enjoyed traveling with their motor home. He and Jean also traveled to Hawaii, Branson and went on a Caribbean Cruise. They also spent time playing cards and dancing. Mr. Hecht was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Drake and Grandson Bartholmew Drake. Marv outlived all of his siblings Roy, Erwin (Hilda), Ralph (Mildred), Harvey (Sandy), Dale, Sister Milda (Ernest) Kern. He is survived by one sister in law Sandy Hecht, and many, many nieces and nephews.
