Matthew “Matt” St. John, age 33, of Lapeer formerly of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015. The funeral service will take place at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Monday June 15, 2015 at 1:00 pm; Miss Holly Legue will officiate with burial to follow at Green Corners Cemetery in Hadley, Michigan. Matt’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Matt was born May 16, 1982, in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Duane & Janie (Hendges) St. John. He worked for Fairhaven Auto Parts in Mt. Morris from 1998 until 2009. Matt enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on cars, woodworking, fishing, camping, and crafting. Left to cherish his memory his parents: Duane and Janie St. John; daughter, Emily Wagner; three sisters: Crystal (Steve) Shamel, Melissa (Tony) Williams and Carrie (Matthew Gibson) St. John; grandparents: Kenny (Sandy) Hendges and Karl (Barb) St. John; two nieces: Alexys Shamel and Analyssa Williams; and many other family members and friends. Matt was preceded in death by his grandmother Beverly St. John.
