Age 48, of Grand Blanc, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at her home surrounded by family. Cremation and private ceremony have taken place. In accordance with Lori’s wishes, a Celebration of Her Life open house will take place from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Sweetwater Bar and Grill, 3015 E. Grand Blanc Rd. in Grand Blanc. Please join Lori’s family in sharing stories, memories and laughter. Dinner and Drinks will be provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Genesee County Asthma Network, 1125 S. Linden Rd., #300, Flint, Michigan, 48532, to help send children to Asthma Camp. Lori was born November 12, 1966, in Flint, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Doris (Hook) Walsh. She was a graduate of Houghton Lake High School in Houghton Lake, Michigan, Class of 1984. After high school, Lori would go on to receive her Master’s Degree in Health Education from the University of Michigan - Flint. Her career path would lead her to a 21 year career at Hurley Medical Center where she last worked as a research assistant. She had a great passion for helping children, and was instrumental in fundraising and assisting with the Asthma Camp at Camp Copneconic. She and Mitchell McQuillan were united in marriage on July 4, 2008 on the lake at the family cottage in Gladwin, MI. They enjoyed having the day off and fireworks each anniversary. Left to cherish her memory are: her husband of seven years, Mitchell McQuillan; two sons: Matthew and wife, Brittney Walsh and daughter Andrea and Tyler Fisher; step-daughter, Molly McQuillan: three step-sons, Patrick, Kevin and Connor McQuillan; seven sisters: Rosemary and husband, Frank Wild, Gaynell and husband, Frank Gillette, Linda Baroski, Diann and husband, Paul Sumera, Deloris and husband, Ray Hasse, Peggy and husband, Mike Spearling and Ann and husband, Greg Rice; two brothers: Jerry Walsh and Tim and wife, Fran Walsh, three dogs: Molly, Joey, and Oliver and several nieces and nephews. Lori was preceded in death by her parents.
