Adrienne Louise Nichols was born on January 31, 1951, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David and Clara (Vanashe) Smith. Educated locally, Adrienne graduated from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School in 1969. Shortly after high school, she would obtain a certificate from the University of Michigan in Mammography and X-Ray Technology. She worked as a mammography x-ray technician at many clinics, most notably McLaren Flint Hospital, where she worked for 10 years before medically retiring in 2008. Adrienne met, fell in love with, and married Marion “Lynn” Nichols on September 6, 1994, in Las Vegas. Adrienne was blessed with three children, as well as four step-children, whom she cherished deeply.
Adrienne was known for being one of the biggest University of Michigan fans. Her cheers would echo throughout the entire stadium, ensuring she was the loudest fan in the crowd. Even when she was at home, she ensured that she did not miss a single game. One of her greatest memories was attending the Rose Bowl in 1998 with her husband, Lynn. Adrienne also took pride in bowling. She was a member of a bowling league for many years where she had great success, bringing home many trophies to symbolize her skills. She also rode horseback most of her life, including in the Mt. Morris Memorial Day parade. Additionally, Adrienne was a member of the Red Hat Society, and also found enjoyment in scrapbooking. Most of all, Adrienne enjoyed spending time with her family and creating new memories.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 31 years: Lynn Nichols; her two children: Sean Metcalfe and wife, Tabitha, Annette Niver; her four step-children: Tammy Coletti, Sherry Higgins and husband, James, Phillip Nichols, Matthew Nichols; her grandchildren: Patrick Metcalfe, Karlie Metcalfe, Keegan Metcalfe, Kamilah Metcalfe, Andrew Niver, Brendon Niver, Gino Coletti, Maddalene Coletti, Brian Higgins, Jason Higgins, Jack Higgins, LayLa Nichols, Lexi Nichols, PJ Nichols, Harper Nichols, Wyatt Nichols, Alia Nichols, Katie Nichols; her brother: David Smith; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
