Betty McAfee

Age 87, of Mt. Morris, passed away at home with her family by her side. A funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Friday, August 29, 2025, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor Jim Reid officiating with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Betty’s family will be present at the funeral home on Friday to receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Betty was born December 22, 1937, in Flint; she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert and Alva (Rodal) Pifer. Educated locally, Betty attended Mt. Morris High School. Shortly after high school, Betty would marry the love of her life, Richard McAfee on May 19, 1956, in Mt. Morris. Sadly, Richard preceded her in death on December 29, 2021. In her free time, Betty enjoyed bowling, and roller skating. She loved spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are children: Patricia Bennett, Jamie and husband, Gerald Vik, Marcia and husband, Gary Lenzi, Duncan McAfee; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings: Doris Smith; Leon and wife, Virginia Pifer, Virginia Anspaugh; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Matthew; grandson, Tyler McAfee; brother, Kenneth Pifer.
