Blenda was born in Amory, MS, to Cleo(Sides) and Viran Marshall on November 15, 1946. She began working at the age of 16 at various jobs, such as car-hopping and bartending. She retired in 2009 after working as a server at Red Lobster for 25 years.
Blenda was a beautiful soul who loved her family more than anything. She was smart and kind, caring and funny – she loved to joke and had a wonderfully infectious laugh. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds. She was also a talented artist who sketched and painted throughout her life. She enjoyed writing and learning new things. She always said that Google was the best invention because she loved having endless knowledge at her
fingertips. She loved beauty, animals, and nature along with taking long drives, especially through the fall colors. She was adventurous and enjoyed family trips. She would often embark on a journey with no specific destination in mind to see where it took her. She was full of life, laughter, and love and will be deeply missed by many.
Blenda was survived by her daughter, Patti Marshall (Rebecca Ross-Wright) of Mt. Morris; special niece and nephew, Kim McDaniel (Jamie Sutherland) of Burton and Casey Marshall (Mona) of Saginaw; sister, Pat Corder (John) of Clio; longtime companion, Tom Farrar of Flushing; grand-dog, Maggie Moo, and many additional nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Blenda was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Viran Marshall; siblings Wanda Marshall, Gary Marshall, Bob Curtis, Bill Curtis, Wilma (Curtis) Christian, and J.D. Curtis; special great-nephew, Joseph McDaniel; and beloved grand-dog Riot.
Blenda's obituary was lovingly written by her family.
