Age, 68, of Mt. Morris, Michigan passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026. Visitation will take place from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Mosaic Church of the Nazarene, 8499 N. Dort Hwy. in Mt. Morris. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Carol Lynn Hopkins was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 20, 1957, the daughter of Clayton and Joan (Scherping) Howard. She was a lifelong resident of the Clio and Mt. Morris areas. While a student at Mt. Morris high school, she met the love of her life Billy Joe Hopkins, and following graduation they married and raised two wonderful sons.

Always kind and warm-hearted, Carol enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and listening to good music. She especially loved spending time at their up north home and taking adventurous trips south to visit her friends. She enthusiastically adored her family and was always there for her five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Surviving are her loving husband Billy Joe; her sons, Billy Joe Jr. (Kathy) and Joshua; her grandchildren, J.J. (Taylor), Braden, Clayton, Alexis and Carter; her great-grandchildren, Harper and Honor; her mother, Joan; her sisters, Vicky (Al), Kelly (Jeff), her brother, Mark (Diane); brother-in-law, Jack (Cindy) Hopkins; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Howard.
