Age 68, of Clio, passed away October 7, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center. A private gathering took place at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. A graveside service will take place 2:00 pm, Monday, October 13, 2025, at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint; Chris Pangerl officiating. Charles was born February 22, 1957, in Osceola Arkansas, he is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Ray and Nellie Elizabeth (Nodine) Counts. Educated locally, Charles graduated from Flint Central. In his free time, Charles enjoyed spending time with his beloved fur babies, watching Nascar and football, bird watching, wrenching in the garage, doing lawn care with his nephew, Brandon, snowmobiling, swimming, spending time with his family and fur babies. Charles was a long-time member of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Flint. He worked as a truck driver for Osceola Food, Martin Transporting, and FedEx.
Left to cherish is memory are his mother, Nellie Counts; sister, Kaye Counts; nieces and nephews: Talena Counts, Tara Cregar, Eric (Danyelle) Counts Sr., and Brandon Cregar; great-nephew, Eric Counts Jr.; sister-in-law, Sandra Counts; granddaughter, Nikki Conner; special friends: Apryl Davis, Jason Umphrey; aunt, Clemmie Rhodes; dogs: Stella Rae, and Myrtle.
Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Amie Nicole Counts; father, Charles; two brothers: Gary Ray and William “Bubba” Counts.
