Devan Hess

Age 28, of Mt. Morris, passed away on September 22, 2026. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date. In accordance with his family's wishes, cremation will take place. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Devan's tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com.

Devan was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan, the beloved son of Aaron and Sara (Ferris) Hess. He was educated locally and graduated from Clio High School with the Class of 2016. Following high school, Devan continued his education at Mott Community College, where he earned an associate degree.

Devan was a kindhearted, fun-loving person who found joy in the simple moments of life and, most importantly, in the people he loved. For 10 years, he worked at Jet's Pizza in Clio, where he became more than just an employee to many of his customers. He genuinely enjoyed getting to know people, sharing conversations, and making those who came through the door feel welcome. The connections he made there were a special part of his life.Above all else, Devan was a devoted and loving dad. His children were the center of his world, and he treasured every moment he spent with Olyver, Linkin, and Lylah. Whether they were playing games together or spending time as a family, Devan cherished those moments. He was an amazing father who took great pride in his children and loved watching them grow. Devan had a wonderful sense of fun and a wide range of interests. He enjoyed disc golf, longboarding, playing Dungeons & Dragons, pickleball, and playing games with his family and friends. He also enjoyed trying his hand at cooking and experimenting with different recipes. His willingness to try new things, laugh, have fun, and share those experiences with the people he loved created countless memories that his family and friends will hold close to their hearts.

Devan's greatest gift was the love he gave to those around him. He had a special way of making memories with the people he cared about, and those memories will continue to bring comfort to his family and friends in the years ahead.

Left to cherish his memory are his fiancée, Emilee; three children: Olyver, Linkin, and Lylah; parents: Aaron and Sara Hess; siblings: Nicholas and Jayda Hess; grandparents: Cindy (Jesse) Ferris, Rick (bonus grandmother, Marilyn) Hess, and Ann Hosey; along with many other family members and friends who loved Devan dearly.

Devan was preceded in death by his bonus grandpa, Charlie Hosey.
