Age, 99, of Genesee Township, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. A private graveside service has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on June 27, 2026 at Hopewell General Baptist Church, 5162 N. Belsay Rd. Flint, MI. 48506. Bette was born on May 2, 1927, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Clarence and Marion Bemis. She graduated from Clio High School in 1944 and went on to marry the love of her life, Clifford H. Lince, on January 19, 1956. Bette devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, a role she cherished deeply. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including sewing and altering clothing, knitting, working on crossword puzzles, and watching birds. She especially loved listening to the cheerful songs of wrens. A faithful and dedicated member of Hopewell General Baptist Church, Bette was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. She volunteered regularly with the church's Vacation Bible School programs, participated in women's Bible studies, and faithfully served her church community with kindness and generosity. Bette will be remembered for her loving heart, her servant's spirit, and the joy she found in life's simple blessings.
Bette is survived by her daughter, Bette Ann McCrandall of Flint, Michigan; her son, Steve (Helen) McCrandall of Middleburg, Florida; her son, Mark (Joy) Lince of Flint, Michigan; her sister in-law, Nora Lee Bemis of Flushing, Michigan; her grandchildren, Roy (Dee) McCrandall of Toledo, Ohio, Rachel (Jerimy) Bennet of Jacksonville, Florida, Joshua (Alissa) McCrandall of Jacksonville, Florida, Jessica (Tom) Shoemaker of Amesbury, Massachusetts, Dan (Brooke) Lince of Burton, Michigan, Graham Lince of Carnelian Bay, California, Madeleine Lince of Byron Center, Michigan; her step grandchildren, James (Laura) Hilton of Middleburg, Florida, Joseph Hilton of Middleburg, Florida; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and daughter in-law, Deborah McCrandall of Toledo, Ohio; daughter in-law, Deborah Lince of Byron Center, Michigan; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford H. Lince; her parents, Clarence and Marion Bemis; her sons, Roy McCrandall III and Kevin C. Lince; and her brother, Doug Bemis.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hopewell General Baptist Church.
