Gayle Anne Berry

Age 68, of Burton, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, 1194 East Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan. Chaplain Adam Doyle to officiate. Family will be present to receive extended family and friends from 10:30 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. Gayle Anne Berry was born on November 7, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry and Joanne (Graves) Brooks. Educated locally, Gayle attended Mt. Morris High School. She met, fell in love with, and married Doran Berry on July 25, 1974, in Burton, Michigan. The two were blessed with two beautiful sons, to whom Gayle would cherish deeply. Caring for her husband and sons were a top priority for Gayle, as she would dedicate her time to being a homemaker.

In her free time, Gayle enjoyed spending as much time as she could outside. She would often travel and explore new places, including Florida, Tennessee, Utah, and Yellowstone. Gayle’s love for the outdoors would also extend to her yard, as she loved caring for her flower garden. To many, she was known as a free-spirited soul who was happiest in the great outdoors. When she wasn’t exploring new places, she would spend her time watching classic movies and creating new art. Gifted with creativity, Gayle would create beautiful art pieces that many grew to appreciate.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 51 years: Doran Berry; her two sons: Craig Berry, Chris and wife, Amanda Berry; her two grandchildren: Alex Berry, Jack Berry; her father: Lawrence and wife, Sandy Brooks; her brother: Larry Brooks; as well as many beloved nieces, cousins, and cherished friends.

Gayle was preceded in death by her mother: Joanne Brooks-Hunt and husband, Robert Hunt; and her sister: Toni Morrison.
