Glenda Kaye Pope was born on March 2, 1941, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, the beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jones and Edith (Webb) Staggs. Raised in Tennessee, Glenda moved to Flint at the age of 14. Shortly after arriving in Michigan, she began working at A&W, where she met the love of her life, Bobbie Lee. At just 16 years old, Glenda famously told Bobbie Lee she was 18 so they could marry, and on December 14, 1957, the two were wed. Only after the wedding did she reveal her true age, a story that became a cherished part of their family history. Together, they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion. In later years, Glenda discovered a passion for antiques, turning her love of treasure hunting into her business, Kaye’s Place, where she became well known as an antique dealer. She delighted in visiting garage sales and flea markets, always searching for unique finds and hidden gems. Above all else, Glenda treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Her warmth, sense of humor, and love for those around her will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cheryl (Jerry) Noell and Tammy McHugh; her 10 grandchildren, Teleasha (BJ) Blogg, Kershana (Travis) Griffith, Justin (Tabetha) Noell, Kara (Tony) Wilkinson, Tiffany (Bruce) Fenner, Eric Noell, Michael (Debi-Jo) McHugh, Marissa (Mike) Cesarz, Andrea (Eric) Schrouder, Tyler McHugh; her 20 great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Izaiah, Kirra, Braden, Mackenzie, Lizzy, Cooper, Holli, Gavin, Kaylee, Terriona, Chase, Kenley, Xander, Brayston, Walter, Camden, Evelyn, Mayleigh, and Eleanor; her daughter-in-law, Mary Pope; and her sisters, Virginia and Judy.
Glenda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobbie Lee; her parents, Jones and Edith; her son, Terry Pope; her son-in-law, Mike McHugh; and her sisters, Ruth, Brenda, and twin sister Linda Faye.
