James "Jim" Edward Bouza

James “Jim” Edward Bouza of Clio, age 89, died Friday, September 18,2026. Jim was born in Flint on January 17,1937, to Henry and Anna (Wlazlo) Bouza.

Jim enlisted in the Navy in 1954. He attended the Navy Builder’s School and was proud to be known as a “Seabee”. He was stationed in the Philippines until late 1957 and went on to serve in the Naval Reserves for five years. During that time, Jim met the love of his life, Diane Shustock. They were married on September 10, 1960; and went on to have three children.

Jim’s experience in the Navy led him to a career as a professional house painter. It later evolved into a love of carpentry. He was active in the building of their home in Clio. In addition, he built many beautiful furniture pieces and was known for his impeccable finish work.

Jim was always willing to lend a hand to friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. His love of reading and absorbing knowledge contributed to his “Jack of all trades” label.

Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Diane Bouza; brother, Joseph (Kate) Bouza; daughter, Lori (Randy) Buckley; sons: Jamie Bouza (Kim) and Matthew (Tina) Bouza; grandchildren: Scott, Greg, Ashley, Jason, Hailey, Bethany, Alyssa, and Matteson; great-grandchildren: Charlie and Louie.
