Age 86 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Mt. Morris, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2025, with his family by his side. Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 am, Monday, August 18, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Rev. Fr. Roy Horning officiating. Jim’s family will gather at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On Sunday evening; family, and friends will gather to pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm. On Monday morning, Jim will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the Mass at 11:00 am. Jim was born on December 27, 1938, in Mt. Morris, the son of George and Mary Agnes (Flynn) Corcoran. Jim was raised in Mt Morris and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School where he excelled at football, basketball, baseball as well as track & field. Shortly after graduation in 1958, Jim heeded the call of duty, enlisting in the United States Army until earning his honorable discharge in 1960. Upon returning home he married the love of his life, Barb Revoir on May 26,1962 and began his 37-year career with the United Parcel Service. Jim held many positions at UPS; as a delivery driver in Flint, Saginaw & Lansing, before working in management in Saginaw, Lansing, Flint, Kalamazoo, Escanaba, Iron Mountain and Grand Rapids; along with many district and national assignments. Above all, Jim loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling, playing cards and attending his grandkids' sporting events. Jim loved the Band of Brothers (Wild Bill and Babe) he took many trips visiting and reminiscing, as well as collected numerous memorabilia.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Revoir) Corcoran; daughter, Tanya (Michael) Lee of Saline, MI and four grandchildren: Avery Lee of Saline MI, Reade and Mason Corcoran of Grand Rapids MI and Delaney Lee of Saline MI; siblings: Sharon (Dan) Pfeiffer, Dan (Diane) Corcoran and Shirley Corcoran; brother-In-law, Jim (Sharon) Revoir; Susie Roach and Pam Myers along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents: George and Mary Corcoran; in-laws: Clarence and Viola Revoir; son, Anthony James Corcoran; siblings: Francis Corcoran, Raymond Corcoran, Mary Theresa Corcoran, Edward Corcoran, Michael Corcoran, George Corcoran Jr, Cleon Corcoran, Mary Ellen Rousseau; and his brother in-law, Michael Revoir.
