Age 84, of Clio, passed away at home with her family by her side on February 17, 2026. A memorial service will take place 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Janet’s family will be present at the church to receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm; and on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 1:00 pm. A private burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Janet’s tribute page on martinfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the food pantry at Bethany United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the church.
Janet was born on November 22, 1941, in Clio; she is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Raymond C. and Flora V. (Silver) Larsen. Educated locally, Janet graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1959. She met the love of her life, Lee Robertson; the two dated, fell in love and were united in marriage on June 22, 1963, in Clio, Sadly, he preceded her in death on November 5, 2015. Janet would continue her education at Michigan State University, earning her master’s in education. She would begin substitute teaching in the Flint area for two-years before becoming a teacher at Doyle-Ryder Community Education Center. Throughout her 28-year career at Doyle-Ryder, she would touch the lives of many children before retiring in 2007. In her free time, Janet loved camping at Higgins Lake and going on cruises with her family. She also enjoyed going on wine tasting trips. Janet loved to cook and bake; she carried on many family recipes from her mother and taught her kids to make them. Her recipes will be passed on through her daughter to the grandchildren. Being surrounded with her family is where she was most happy, from celebrating holidays and birthdays to the Sunday family dinners, Friday night pizza with her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Brad Robertson, Bryan and wife, Heather Robertson, and Elizabeth and husband, Clarence Elston; grandchildren: Moussa and wife, Emily Elston, Gabriella and husband, Ivan Cuzzocrea, Clay Elston, Nicholas, Katelyn and Emily Robertson, and Alexis Town; four great-grandchildren: Lindsey, Levi, Ezrah, and James; sister, Susan Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Lee.
