Jennifer “Jenny” Jeanette Smith was born on May 6, 1972, to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Patsy (Gear) Carter. She earned her GED from Davison High School and went on to build a career she truly loved, working as a baker for Panera Bread for more than 17 years. Jenny had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and loved spending time outdoors. She enjoyed being near the water, watching sunsets, gazing at the moon, and riding motorcycles. She especially enjoyed traveling to Arizona to spend time with her Aunt Annie. Jenny also found joy in singing and had a special love for Jesus, the Detroit Red Wings, and rainbows. Above all, Jenny cherished the time she spent with her son, Brandon, who was her world. Her love for him was immeasurable, and he brought tremendous joy and meaning to her life. Through all that she faced, Jenny was also comforted by the unwavering companionship of her beloved Rottweiler, Riggs, who was always by her side.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Brandon Smith and Jeremy (Katie) Carter; her best friend: Aunt Annie (Rick) Yannuzzi; her grandchildren: Aubree, Avery, Alexandria, Emma, and Jeremy; her mother: Patsy; her sisters: Jerry, Jessica, Kathy, and Karen; her brother: Mark; her special friend: Tracey; and her special Aunt Shirley.
Jenny was preceded in death by her grandmother: Mimmy; the love of her life: Dan Smith; her father: Gerald; her uncle: David; her aunt: Liz; her brother: Gary; and her niece: Chloe.
Jenny will be remembered for her loving heart, her appreciation for life’s simple beauties, and the deep love she had for her family, friends, and faithful companions.
