KaTrina Ann Lucas was born on March 31, 1966, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Ms. Donnis Potter. Educated locally, KaTrina graduated in 1984 from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School. Shortly after graduating, KaTrina enrolled at Central Michigan University. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in May of 1988, specializing in Psychology. During her time at CMU, she was a member of The National Honor Society in Psychology, also known as Psi Chi.

Determined to help shape future generations, she began working as a child psychologist in many schools within Genesee County, as well as providing care to patients within a healthcare environment. She worked at CMH Community Mental Health before retirement. Shortly after retiring, KaTrina rejoined the work force and began working for different schools in Genesee County, including Genesee Intermediate School District. She also held a high level of faith as she would often volunteer at St Mary Catholic Church in the Altar Society and the school. In her free time, KaTrina enjoyed camping at Poncho’s Pond in Ludington, Michigan with her closest friends and family. She also found joy in watching the sunset, bird watching, and caring for her vegetable garden. Skilled in her photography skills, she would often take stunning photographs of the sunset, and any other subject she found worth photographing. Most of all, she enjoyed rooting on the kids she cared for at work, often cheering them on in their sports games and extracurricular activities.

Left to cherish her memory are her two brothers: Glen Lucas, Roy Lucas; her nieces and nephews: Adam and wife, Mechele Lucas, Cody and wife, Chrissy Lucas, Brandy Lucas and husband, Mark Kaminski; her great-nieces and nephews: Cameron, Kaelyn, Logan, John Henry, Maverick, Liberty, and Ryker; her Aunt Lynn; her special cousins: Marcie, Matthew, and Annette; her dearest friends: Mel and Denise; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.

Katrina was preceded in death by her mother: Donnis Potter; and her brother: baby John.
