Loran James Hart was born on January 24, 1933, in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Judson and Beulah (Hinkle) Hart. Educated locally, Loran attended Mt. Morris schools. Dedicated to his country, he heeded his call of duty and enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. Upon his return to civilian life, Loran worked as a truck driver for many years, beginning his career with Farmer Pete, eventually retiring from Roadway in the early 1990’s. He met, fell in love with, and married the love of his life, Vivian Elaine Selleck on November 17, 1978. The two loved camping, shopping, and spending time with their family, creating many memories they would love and cherish forever. Sadly, Vivian preceded Loran in passing on December 2, 2022.

In his free time, Loran enjoyed kicking back and relaxing. He would enjoy watching various Sci-Fi and Western films. Loran frequently walked the Small Mall with other friends to get themselves out and about. Loran also enjoyed frequenting the local Coney Island, often arriving many hours before opening time to secure his favorite parking spot.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Mike Hart and wife, Brenda, Jeff Hart, Jim Hart, Carlo Drago, Misha McKenzie and husband, Dale; his grandchildren: Brandon and Brittany Porter, Devon and Austin McKenzie; his great-grandchildren: Brennyn and Emmett Porter, and Claire McKenzie; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Loran was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Vivian Hart; his parents: Judson and Beulah Hart; and his canine companion, Lulu.
