Age 62, of Flushing, formerly of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at McLaren-Flint. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 1, at St. Robert Catholic Church; 310 N Cherry St, Flushing, MI, 48433. Rev, Fr, Joseph Krupp will officiate. Mark's family will be present to receive friends from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, November 30, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. On Tuesday, Mark will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of funeral mass at 11:00. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Mark's Tribute page at martinfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions in Mark's memory may be considered to the Odyssey House of Flint or Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Mark was born in Flint, Michigan, on November 3, 1958, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith and Naomi (Goehring) Hilliker. Mark was educated locally, graduating from Elisabeth Ann Johnson High School with the Class of 1976. Active in high school, Mark was a member of the band where he played the drums, golf, and tennis teams. Mark pursued a career in construction, specializing in carpentry; building houses, finish carpentry, and fireproofing before his retirement in October of 2001. Mark met the love of his life, Rebecca Krupp. They were united in marriage on May 19, 2001, in Mt. Morris. Active in the community, Mark was a member of the East Branch Sportsman Club for 30 years and a member of the Michigan DeMolay Clio Chapter. He also served as a volunteer firefighter, twice, totaling 15 years, for the Mt. Morris City Fire Station #44 from 1979 to 1985 and again from 1992 to 2001. Mark also taught Sunday School at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris. In his free time, Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bird watching, home improvement projects, and doing celebrity impressions, especially, Donald Duck. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to the races at Auto City Speedway. Described as a people person, Mark developed friendships wherever he went, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mark lived his life, 30 years, being clean and sober; a Narcotics Anonymous member. Mark leaves to cherish his memory wife: Becky Hilliker; two sons: Mark Hilliker Jr., Aaron Pierce; daughter: Krissy Pierce; grandchildren: Faith, Erika, Aya, Salma, Joey, Evie, and Anthony; brother: Kevin and wife, Laurel Hilliker; two sisters: Connie and husband, Tom Corcoran, Marsha Steuck; special cousin: Grant Vincent; several nieces and nephews; friends: Jeff and Mike Harrington, and Cliff Hamilton. Mark was preceded in death by his parents: Keith and Naomi Hilliker.
