Michael “Shoenzy” Paul Shoens was born on April 4, 1966, in Flint, Michigan, to Timothy and Doris (Turbeville) Shoens. He graduated from Mount Morris High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Morris, the Masons, and the Shriners, where he proudly served as a clown. Michael married Shelia on August 4, 1998, in a special ceremony held in their own backyard in Clio, Michigan. Michael worked as a driver for Dekes Concrete and, more recently, as a delivery driver for Evans Food Service. He was a man who enjoyed staying active and making the most of life. Some of his favorite pastimes included playing guitar, lifting weights, hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. He had a love for traveling, especially places where he could enjoy the ocean and the beauty of the outdoors. Whether spending time outside, gathering around a bonfire, or sharing laughs and stories with family and friends, Michael appreciated the simple moments that made life special. Above all, Michael was a devoted family man who loved deeply and cherished the time he spent with those closest to him. His family meant the world to him, and the memories they created together will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Michael will be remembered for the many interests he enjoyed, the experiences he shared, and the love he had for his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shelia; children: Kaleigh, Jason Tuck, and Heather Thorpe; parents: Tim and Doris; grandchildren: Joseph Thorpe and Easton Thorpe; siblings: Kim (Gary) Pillow and Jason (Heather) Shoens; brothers in-law: Gary (Kathi) McAlister and Michael (Christine) McAlister; special friends: AJ and Kami Pomroy; best furry friend, Rudy; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends, who he thought the world of.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents: Flodie and Ermalee Turbeville; brother, Timothy Shoens II; in-laws: William and Sarah McAlister; uncle, Flodie Turbeville Jr.; niece, Lauren Shoens; beloved dog, Molly; and Rod Lester
