Robert Jack Du Breuil, age 75, of Mt. Morris, affectionately known by his GM co-workers as “Bob-a-Lou,” passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones at McLaren Hospital in Flint, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Robert’s family will receive friends at Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Tuesday, January 27, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Rosary Service will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. that evening. On Wednesday morning, Robert will lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Robert was born on December 26, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Robert D. and Bernice (Pierson) Du Breuil. He married Cecilia Duterte on December 27, 1980, in Danao City, Cebu, Philippines. A lifelong resident of the Flint area, Robert graduated from Clio High School in 1970. He was employed at GM Truck and Bus, where he served as a group leader and proudly retired after 35 years of dedicated service. A devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Robert was actively involved in the school lunch program for many years. He lived his faith daily through his kindness, dedication, and love for his family.
Known for his signature hats and gentlemanly demeanor, Robert enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and stamps, playing cards and softball, watching westerns, and dining out. He and Cecilia shared a love of travel, visiting destinations as far as the Philippines, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia, his son, Joseph Du Breuil, his grandson, Jayden Du Breuil, and his brother, David Du Breuil.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert D. and Bernice Du Breuil.
