Scott Paul Wheeler was born on April 28, 1966, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin and Marcia (Nestor) Wheeler. Educated locally, Scott graduated from Hamady High School in 1984. Immediately following graduation, Scott attended Ferris State University where he would obtain his Associate degree in Automotive Machining in 1986. He worked for many years as a mechanic for varying companies, most notably being Alta Equipment (formerly known as Evans Equipment) since 1999. Additionally, Scott worked as an on-call firefighter for the Mt. Morris Township fire department, completing his training right at 18-years-old. He would serve the Mt. Morris community for over 40 years, becoming the Assistant Chief for Mt. Morris Township Station #1 in 2013. Scott met, fell in love with, and married the love of his life, Marianne, on January 31, 1991. The two were blessed with three children, to whom Scott would cherish deeply.
In his free time, Scott enjoyed fixing things around the house, sitting around a bonfire, and watching television, especially the Discovery Channel and NASCAR (Go Dale Earnhardt, Jr!). Most of all, Scott found pride in spending time and creating new memories with his family. He was a family man through-and-through, as well as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and son.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 34 years: Marianne Wheeler; his three children: Zachary and wife, Kelli Wheeler, Samantha and husband, Timothy Dodd, Jr., Alisha Edgcombe and significant other, Devin Smith; his seven grandchildren: Peyton, Kennedy, Easton, Kason, Carson, Salem, August; his father: Darwin Wheeler; as well as many other cherished family members, friends, and fellow firefighters.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother: Marcia Wheeler.
