Sherry Porritt

Age 57, of Davison, passed away Monday, October 26, 2026, with her family by her side. A Celebration of Life will take place 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, with Pastor Peggy Norton officiating. Sherry’s family will be present at the funeral home on Sunday morning to receive family and friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 3:00 pm. Sherry was born in Flint, Michigan, on September 10, 1969, the daughter of Delbert and Margaret (Dominy) Tarrence. She graduated from Kearsley High School with the Class of 1987.

Sherry loved going on vacations, and Florida’s beaches were her favorite place to be. With her toes in the sand and the sun on her face, she was in her happy place. When she couldn’t be soaking up the Florida sunshine, the tanning bed was the next best thing. Sherry loved being tan and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Family gatherings were Sherry’s happy place. She treasured every moment spent with her family, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She also enjoyed reading books, cooking, and, true to her nature, was always finding something to clean! Sherry was a longtime member of CenterPoint Church in Burton. From 2020 to 2026, she worked as a leasing agent for Sun Homes Community.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Ashley (Matthew) Myers, and Kailey (Anthony) Larson; two grandchildren: Liam and Gracie; her mother, Margaret Tarrance; two siblings: Debbie Burns and Randy (Cindy) Tarrence; her special friend, Cathy; nieces and nephews, Maria, Timmy, Jason, Heather, Kenny, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Christopher, and Justin; and many cousins and friends.

Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Tarrance, and her brother, Danny.
