Age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep the day after he made it home from the hospital after a five week stay. The funeral service will take place at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Pastor Sarah Larose-Nettle officiating with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Tom's family will be present at the funeral home on Monday to receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Tom was born in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Roy and Bernice Lucille (Poe) Huneycutt. Tom was an old school-hardworking man who spent a majority of his career in the siding business. Tom started his career with Halls Roofing & Siding, from there he would own a siding business with his brother, Howard. In between he working for General Motors, Fisher Body Plant for 10 years. In his younger years, Tom loved hunting and fishing; he also enjoyed frequenting the casino with his sister, Shirley. Tom finally hit the jackpot when the Lord called him home last Thursday. Tom and the love of his life, Debbie were childhood sweethearts, they ended up going their separate ways for many years raising their individual families. They eventually became reacquainted, and the rest is history as they say. Tom and Debbie spent 23 happy years together. Sadly, Debbie, preceded him in death. Together, Tom and Debbie enjoyed traveling to Washington, and Montana to visit family.
Surviving are his children: Mike Huneycutt, Tom and (Karla) Huneycutt, Jennifer (Chelsee Queen) Huneycutt, Jeremy Huneycutt; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Deming, and Lynn (Robert) Earley; brother, Howard Huneycutt; stepsons: Jason (Jennifer) Nemitz, Jake Nemitz; and the extended Hodge family
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale Huneycutt; sister, Gail Johnson; son, Rob Huneycutt; granddaughter, Jennie Hayward; and the love of his life, Debbie (Hodge) Craven.
