Toni Jean Hiney

Age 59, of St. Helen, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. A funeral service will take place at 12:30pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, 1194 East Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan. Mark Zimmerman to officiate, with burial to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends from 10:00am until the time of the service at 12:30pm. Toni Jean Hiney was born on December 21, 1966, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin and Peggy (Lucas) Zimmerman. She met, fell in love with, and married the love of her life, John Charles Hiney on February 22, 2010. The two would spend 6 blissful years together before John’s passing in 2016. Dedicated to caring for her family, Toni tended to her children and her home upon completion of her GED. Gifted with a kind and caring soul, she was known as the neighborhood grandma at their home in St. Helen, ensuring all children were cared for and loved. Additionally, Toni enjoyed hosting family holidays and events.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing various games, including dice, Rummy, and Solitaire. She also found peace in watching her favorite television shows and movies, such as Two Broke Girls, My Name is Earl, and Lost Boys. Every Sunday, Toni would make sure to cheer on her favorite football team, the Detroit Lions. Creative in nature, Toni would often paint various rocks and scatter them throughout town for people to find. Being outdoors was one of her favorite places to be, and she could often be found observing the wildlife around her property and viewing the stars in the night sky.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Justin Hiney, John Hiney II, Leo Hiney, David Zimmerman and partner, Theramarisa McQueen, Steven Zimmerman and wife, Taalor, Terra Krouse and husband, Shane, and Tiffany Daly; her 16 grandchildren: David, Kaylee, Courtney, Donovan, Dolan, Dakota, Ainsley, Charlotte, Ella, Landon, Dixie, Monika, Brighton, Ethan, Leroy, and Paisley; her siblings: Mark Zimmerman and wife, Kris, Tammy Hickey, and Ken Zimmerman; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Toni was preceded in death by her husband: John Hiney; and her parents: Marvin and Peggy Zimmerman.
