Tracy Wayne Congdon

Age 78, of Chickamauga, Georgia, formerly of Mt. Morris, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. A funeral service will take place at 11:00am, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Rev Fr. Kenneth Coughlin to officiate, with burial to follow at Thetford Township Cemetery. Tracy’s family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00am until 8:00pm, and again on Wednesday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Tracy was born in Flint, on September 1, 1945, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Amelia (Smith) Congdon. Educated locally, he graduated from St. Mary High School with the Class of 1963. On May 15, 1963, Tracy heeded the call to serve his country and proudly enlisted in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge on November 3, 1966. Upon his return to the States, he began working for General Motors as a Fork Truck Operator until his retirement in 2003. On November 19, 1999, Tracy married the love of his life, Denise Julian. Tracy loved to work on anything and everything. When he worked for a mortgage company, he would often help rebuild the homes for the people buying the homes and he took great pride in knowing he was able to help others. Tracy also enjoyed working in his garage and in his yard. He loved to be outside. Tracy was a fantastic prankster and enjoyed playing pranks on his children, whom he passed down his love of pranking others. In his free time, Tracy enjoyed watching old Westerns but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. Tracy was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish Tracy's memory are his beloved wife, Denise Congdon; children: Teri Congdon and significant other, Timothy Boone, Tracy and wife, Sheila Congdon, Michael Congdon, Kristina Congdon, Donald Congdon, Shawn Groves, Bridgette Ives, Ethan and wife, Jennifer Best; grandchildren: Kurston, Amanda, Gavin, Marissa, Kaylee, Olivia, Emma, Lauren, Marcus, Natalie, Dominic, Trey, Abby, Jayden, Brylee; many great-grandchildren; siblings: Gary and wife, Ruby Congdon, Mary Tahtinen, Donna Yokobosky; John and wife, Shelley Congdon; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Tracy was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ernie Congdon.
