Obituary of Caroline L. Gring

Age 79 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at McLaren Flint. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, 2015, at 1:30 pm at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services. Pastor John Hart will officiate with burial to follow, at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services on Friday, from 10:30 am until time of service at 1:30 pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Caroline was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thad and Dorma (Morrell) VunCannon in Flint, Michigan, on February 21, 1936. Educated locally she graduated from Mt. Morris High School with the Class of 1954. She and Robert Gring were united in marriage on May 10, 1958. Caroline worked in the office at Ternstedt for several years. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, spending time at Secord Lake and watching Tiger Baseball. Left to cherish her memory are two children, Tom and wife, Teddi Gring and Shelley and husband, Mike MacDonald; grandchildren, Michael and wife, Nicole Gring, Patty Gring and Steve Mitchell, Carl Carlson, Cameron Worth, Shauna and husband, Jeff Leighton and Mikey MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Mya, Maci, Charlee, Jayden, Elliana, and Chloe; brother, Jim and wife, Gloria VunCannon; nephews, Steve and wife, Jennifer VunCannon and Cory and wife, Jessica VunCannon; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert. The family would like to thank McLaren ICU for the care given to Caroline and the family.
