Obituary of Duane Lee Smith

Age 52, of Flint, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Hurley Medical Center with his family by his side. In accordance with Duane's wishes, cremation has taken place. There are no further services scheduled at this time. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on Duane’s tribute wall at martinfuneralhome.com.

 

Duane was born in Flint on January 29, 1972, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton and Barbara (Tennant) Smith, Jr. Duane was an active video gamer and enjoyed watching old Westerns, scary movies, and Kung Fu movies. He was an avid collector of knives and swords and loved all things that were sharp. Halloween was his favorite holiday and he had many Halloween decorations to display. Duane enjoyed spending his time outside enjoying the warm weather. Spending time with his family and friends was his favorite pastime. Duane was an avid animal lover, especially his therapy cat, Princess. He will be greatly missed.

  

Left to cherish Duane's memory are his mother, Patricia Smith; significant other, Liz Smith; children: Duane Jr., Adeline, Clark; granddaughter, Amethyst; siblings: Will and fiancee, Georgina, Jessie Ann, Jennifer and husband, Aaron, Clinton, III, David and significant other, Sara, Steven and wife, Corrine; grandmothers: Norna Smith, and Connie Giddings; several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.                                             

 

Duane was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jake Smith; and grandfathers: Norman and Clinton.
